Creating a Safe Place and Building Resources
Learn new skills to build individual calm/safe places with your client to help them process significant life or distressing events.
Clients with severe anxiety, varying mood swings, impulse control or dissociative disorder symptoms may require additional stabilisation interventions before they are ready to start working on processing any significant life events or any events that they find to be distressing.
In this workshop you will learn the skills to build individual calm/safe places with your client and you will learn a range of breathing techniques to help clients to feel more calm and relaxed. You will learn some grounding techniques along with some guided imagery techniques to include the installation of resources including nurturing figures, heroic figures, symbols and others methods that will help to address issues that clients may present with such as shame and guilt.
By the end of this workshop you will be provided with a range of supportive material and will have developed the confidence to help you to use the skills and techniques that you will have acquired throughout the day.
