Scott J Staniforth is a BACP registered integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. He has worked within NHS primary care and in private practice, working with both individuals and couples with a wide-variety of presenting issues. While he works as an integrated therapist, his primary modality is Transactional Analysis (TA), which he uses consistently in his therapeutic work and psychotherapeutic research. In addition to Scott’s psychotherapeutic work, he also has a strong academic background in the field of Biomedical Sciences where he acquired his undergraduate degree, Master’s degree and PhD (Newcastle University), while researching immunological disease. He has successfully integrated his scientific background into his work as a therapist where he offers specialist knowledge as a medical scientist and therapist to those suffering with complex immunological disease and the sustained trauma that can present. Scott has also worked extensively as a university lecturer, demonstrator and seminar leader at both Coventry and Newcastle University, and continues to offer tuition, tutorial and pastoral support to pre and post-graduate students. He has recently extended his teaching profile to offer training in TA, and also offers biomedical science education for fellow counsellors and psychotherapists.
