What is Talking Therapy?
Talking therapy such as Counselling, CBT, EMDR therapy or counselling for couples involves talking to a trained professional in confidence, about issues or problems that you may be facing in your life which may be affecting your mental and emotional wellbeing. It is designed to give you a safe time and place to talk through your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to help you make sense of things and understand yourself better.
Talking Therapy may help you resolve complicated feelings or find ways to live with them or help you recognise unhelpful patterns in the way you think or act and find ways to change them (if you want to).
Talking therapy can help you manage and cope with a range of issues including difficult life events or emotions, relationship problems, upsetting or traumatic experiences, stress, depression, anxiety, long term health issues and other mental health problems.
What we offer
We offer a range of talking therapies using a number of psychotherapeutic approaches including psychodynamic and person-centred Counselling, Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
Our therapies are available for short term (usually not less than 6 sessions), medium and long term. Most talking therapy sessions are held face to face in the Centre and take place weekly (or fortnightly) with each session lasting for 50 minutes.
We also offer remote therapy for clients who are unable to attend in person sessions and this is available by telephone or video (i.e. Zoom).
Our aim is to create a warm and friendly environment in which you can feel safe in the knowledge that our highly skilled therapists will offer care and compassion during your very important therapeutic journey.
