Rosie is a fully qualified Children and Young Person Integrative Psychotherapist and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and has over 7 years’ experience of working therapeutically with children and young people.
Over the years that Rosie has practised, she uses an integrative approach, whereby working in a way that best suits the client and their needs. During therapy, Rosie offers a safe space in which to build a trusting therapeutic relationship, supporting the client to share their story, bringing a focus to the areas in which they wish to see change and to work alongside the client to enable them to reach their goals. Rosie has had considerable experience, working with children, young people and their families who have presented a wide scale of issues including trauma, abuse, anxiety, low mood and self harm- to name but a few. Rosie has 12 years experience of working with schools and education.
Rosie uses creative media within her work with children and this can be easier for the child to express how they are feeling and tell their own story at a pace that is best for them.
In private practice, Rosie has worked with children and young people dealing with a number of issues, such as managing stress and anxiety, separation and divorce, anticipatory grief, childhood trauma, working towards acceptance and understanding of self, school/exam stress, self-harm, suicide ideation, eating issues, school/exam stress and friendship/ relationship/ couple issues.
Alongside private practice, Rosie works within education, offering Mental Health support for vulnerable students. She has previously worked as a Mental Health Lead for an alternative provision and the Charity Place2be and has managed the counselling service within a school.
