Letizia is a counsellor and accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). She works with individuals aged 18 and over, offering counselling sessions in English and Italian.
Letizia chose to train in the humanistic/person centred modality because she believes that each human being has the innate capacity to know what they need to be happy. She specialises in therapeutic interventions aimed at relieving depressive symptoms, and has a long experience of working with emotional distress related to bereavement, past abuse, cultural and sexual identity, discrimination and inequality.
Letizia has spent most of her nine-year-long counselling career in various NHS settings in different locations in England (Penzance, York, Newcastle); before joining the NHS, she was an affiliate counsellor for primary care mental health services and for a Community Interest Company offering mindfulness-based counselling; she has worked also in the voluntary sector as a counsellor for women’s well-being services.
Letizia is interested in exploring the role of the breath and the body in the emotional healing process; when appropriate, she will integrate her practice with mindfulness-based exercises and interventions, aimed at helping the people she works with to take care of their emotional distress while at the same time remaining in touch with -or rediscovering- the joyful, soothing and healing elements in their lives.
