Amanda is a highly experienced CBT therapist and qualified supervisor. She has significant experience of working with people with a variety of mental health conditions. Amanda is fully accredited with the BABCP and also a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
Amanda has almost 20 years’ experience of working within a variety of sectors including NHS, corporate and private medical insurance along with running her own private practice.
Typical mental health issues Amanda works with include, depression, generalised anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, self-esteem issues, PTSD, OCD and phobias.
Amanda appreciates that reaching out can be daunting and offers a warm and empathetic approach along with a safe supportive space, working collaboratively to support you to achieve your therapy goals at a pace that is right for you. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based therapy recommended by the National institute of clinical excellence (NICE) for a range of common mental health issues. It is based on the concept that thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all interconnected and involves learning tools and techniques to help identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours with a view to changing the thoughts and behaviours makes changes to your mood. Amanda will work collaboratively with you focusing on your current problems as opposed to focusing on the past.
