Alina is a fully qualified integrative counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and works with children, young people and adults.
As an integrative counsellor Alina uses different methods from various schools of counselling, including person-centred, Gestalt, psychodynamic, basic CBT skills, play therapy and other skills.
Alina has significant experience of working with those who faced loss and bereavement, various life changes, trauma, abuse, self-harm and difficulties in relationships. Most of her work experience involves working with victims and survivors of abuse, particularly domestic abuse and childhood sexual abuse and physical assault.
She also works in a charity organisation, fulfilling NHS counselling contracts, which mostly involve providing therapy to children and young people. Additionally, Alina has experience of working in primary and secondary schools and through her work with children, Alina uses a range of creative methods to engage young people in therapy and help them to tell their story. For example, sessions might involve painting, drawings, creating narratives and playing boards games, which all can help to build therapeutic relationship, make them feel comfortable in sessions and support children to express themselves.
Similarly, in her work with adults, Alina provides safe and confidential space for individuals to tell their story, make sense of their experiences, to be heard and accepted for who they are and work towards their own personal goals.
