What information do we collect about you?

When you provide us with information about yourself and your family, this data is used and stored by Jesmond Therapy Centre. The main reason for this is to enable us to provide relevant products and services to you.

We may also collect the following information when you register with us, contact us with a general enquiry regarding therapy or practitioner room use or to place an order for our products and services:

  • name and job title (if applicable)
  • date of birth

  • credit or debit card details (or other payment methods) including billing address for the purposes of booking training courses, purchasing candles and gift vouchers
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • other information relevant to a general therapy enquiry, enquiry about room use, training, surveys and/or offers

The information we collect will depend on the reason you are contacting us or the reason you are using Jesmond Therapy Centre.

We also collect information when you provide feedback and participate in competitions. Website usage information is collected using cookies.

How will we use the information about you?

We collect this information about you to process your order, manage your records, provide you with access to the therapeutic services and if you agree, to email you about other products and services which we think may be of interest to you. We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with better products and services, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • For internal record keeping and to maintain our records internally
  • To respond to any enquiries you make
  • To process training course bookings
  • For statistical analysis
  • To help signpost how you can access the therapies that you are interested in or which may be relevant to your needs

  • We may use the information to improve our training and services and administer any events in which you participate or wish to participate in
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about new training courses, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided, if you have provided your consent to direct marketing.

Who has access to your information?

There may be occasions when you ask us to pass on information about you to one of our self employed independent practitioners (who work out of Jesmond Therapy Centre) to provide access to therapeutic services, or we may volunteer to pass such information on. We will obtain your consent for us to do so in advance. You should note that we do not have any control over the policies of the practitioner. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide to the practitioner, as these are not governed by this privacy statement. We advise you to ask the practitioner for details of their own privacy policy if you are concerned how they will treat your personal data.

If you disclose information that leads us to believe someone is at risk of serious harm, particularly if it involves a child, we may be required to break confidentiality in order to protect those at risk.

As with all sensitive data we keep all of these details securely in our systems. The only exceptions are that we may pass some data to third parties in order for them to fulfil services for us, but they can only use this data to fulfil those services for us and cannot pass it on, use it to fulfil services of other companies, or use it for their own interests. The types of companies we use are, for example:

  • Our data storage provider, MailChimp
  • Our website administrator,
  • Our payment service provider; and
  • Our IT provider.

We also keep emails and a brief written log of phone calls for a short period of time after you have contacted us, so we can continue to offer an efficient service if you make further contact.

Marketing

If you have consented to receive marketing, we would like to send you information about products and services of ours (including training courses) which may be of interest to you.

There are several ways you might opt – in to receive marketing from us, for example:

  • Verbal consent over the telephone or in person;

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.

Jesmond Therapy Centre is a data controller. The information you provide will be processed mainly in connection with the administration of training events or in relation to providing therapeutic services.
