Individual Counsellor and EMDR Therapist
Karen is a BACP Integrative Counsellor working with adults and an experienced EMDR Therapist
Karen has 15 years’ experience working as an Integrative Counsellor and
EMDR therapist, working with a wide range of issues relating to personal and
work life. Karen is a member of the BACP (British Association for
Counselling and Psychotherapy).
As a Counsellor, Karen believes it is important in her role to utilise
her skill, expertise and knowledge to ensure you address issues that are
impacting on your own mental health. Karen will work with you to empower and
enhance your life utilising your own inner resources to resolve and heal
past and present issues.
Karen is able to work with a diverse range of issues and believes the
client knows themselves better than anyone. Karen will work with you from
your own perspective in relation to your needs, therefore, making a positive
change within your life to understand and to be able to cope in a more
constructive, and different way that is more conducive to your everyday life
and others around you.
Karen will work with you together to explore the relationship between your
thoughts, emotions and behaviour’s enabling you to progress through the
process of therapy helping you overcome the problems or issues and feel
more in control of your daily life.
Karen works with a wide range of issues relating to:
Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Self Esteem, Self Confidence, Anger Management, Bullying,
Trauma past and present, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Loss and
Bereavement, Abuse, Relationships, Historic Childhood Abuse, Domestic Abuse
and Violence and much more.
Karen is also an experienced EMDR therapist. Karen works with trauma symptoms relating to childhood issues, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), loss and also a wide range of issues ranging from anxiety, phobias, confidence and self esteem.
Karen has a background in health and fitness, therefore, she works from a
holistic perspective with clients to enhance self-care. Karen has worked
within various work environments and have gained perspective on the
diversity of workplaces, therefore, understands the pressures and challenges
that some environments evoke.
Karen qualified as a Counsellor in 2002 and has worked in a wide variety of mental health organisations.
