Counsellor & Psychotherapist (Adults)

Carol is a fully qualified counsellor registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and works with individuals.
Carol is an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. She is a Registered Member of the BACP and UKCP and is currently in private practice at Jesmond Therapy Centre.
Carol has worked within an NHS setting for several years, gaining experience of working with clients on a short and long term basis. She has also worked at a charity for Women’s Health, dealing with many issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, historical trauma, domestic abuse, anger and relationship issues.
Carol works with adults from aged 18 years onwards. Her genuine and honest approach is focused on providing a confidential, non-judgemental environment where a person can feel valued and respected whilst discussing issues with which they are having difficulties. She believes in the restorative qualities of therapy, the potential for change and the opportunity for personal growth. Her clinical practice is based on integrity, communicating on an equal level, whilst acknowledging a person’s right to benefit from professional knowledge and competence of a high standard.
Carol’s training has involved advanced studies in various approaches to counselling and psychotherapy including Transactional Analysis, Attachment and Developmental Theory, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural and Creative Therapy which are incorporated within her clinical practice.
Her background includes working as a Registered Nurse for 12 years, specialising in Coronary Care and Acute Medicine. She has also completed a BA Hons in English Literature and History.
