Welcome to Jesmond Therapy Centre, where our network of specialist independent therapists are dedicated to providing an array of talking therapies to help you feel special – about yourself, your work and your life.
As one of the first talking therapy centres in the North East, we were inspired to establish Jesmond Therapy Centre to create a relaxed and welcoming place where people can come for specialist support to help them move forward when facing personal challenges or adversities in life.
Taking the first step
Taking the first step towards meeting with a therapist can be daunting, but our warm and friendly approach means we are here to assist you find the right help and effect positive and lasting change. We are careful on how we select the therapists who work from our Centre and it is with many years of dedicated screening that we now offer one of the most experienced networks of independent talking therapy professionals in the North East.
We offer a range of therapies including Counselling, Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and provide services to individuals, couples, families and children over the age of nine. The therapists work to the highest standards to support you through your journey, in a discreet and confidential setting in a peaceful leafy corner of Jesmond, near the heart of the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

In your initial contact with us, we will establish your reasons for seeking therapy before connecting you with an appropriate therapist. We will focus on the right type of therapy for you, whether it be counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy or trauma work.
If you are seeking help and support and time is of the essence, we can offer appointments quickly, working around your own work and personal commitments. We’ll help match the choice of therapy and therapist to your individual needs.
Your journey of change takes place in the light and relaxed setting of our suite of six therapy rooms. No matter what your reason for visiting the Centre, you can be assured of a confidential, professional service in discreet, quiet surroundings.

The Therapists
Jesmond Therapy Centre is home to over 50 independent therapists and provides one of the broadest ranges of talking therapies in the North East. The therapists we work with have a wealth of experience in working with people from all walks of life. They have helped many people over the years with all kinds of difficulties, and so no matter what you are currently dealing with, the team at Jesmond Therapy Centre is here to help you.
If you are seeking emotional support to help you deal with a problem or issue which is affecting your mental wellbeing, then you can be assured that the therapist we place you with will be:
- Qualified with relevant post qualification experience
- Referenced and checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service
- Fully insured to practice
- Accredited (or working towards accreditation)
- A member of their relevant statutory regulatory body and/or an appropriate professional body or association i.e. BACP, BABCP, HCPC
- Supervised (by a qualified and experienced talking therapist Supervisor)
We can connect you with talking therapists who cover a broad range of different approaches and are able to provide therapy for individuals, relationships, families, children aged over 9 and young people. Many are registered with private medical companies such as BUPA as well as working with employee assistance programmes.
Please note, all the therapists are self-employed, independent practitioners and have responsibility for registration with and abiding by professional bodies’ code of ethics, guidelines and practise, together with complying with all data protection legislation and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Each practitioner holds their own professional indemnity insurance.
