Intelligent Weight Loss – zest4life is an exciting new and powerful health improvement and weight loss process designed to educate and motivate you to change and improve your body, your health, and your well-being for good.   Our programmes create long lasting change and are run by trained and qualified Nutritional Therapists and Weight Loss Coaches.

  • 1 x 90 minute – Introduction to Low Glycaemic Load Food Plan plus goal setting for your programme.
  • 4 x 30 minute education/coaching sessions  (taken weekly or fortnightly)
  • Body Composition Analysis (every time you meet with Aileen) for an accurate assessment of key markers; using Tanita Scales, you’ll get a print out and also it’ll help you keep on track with your ideal body vision.
  • Weekly Food and Mood Diary Review – (as required by you)
  • Weekly Accountability Forms – Aileen will send you a weekly email asking you some questions to help you review your successes and challenges to help you get the most out of your sessions.

FAQ

Do I have to buy food replacement packs?
No, the food you are encouraged to eat is fresh, natural wholefoods; a way of eating for life and one that the whole family can eat & enjoy!

How much weight can I expect to lose?
Typically clients lose 1 to 2lb per week. This is a safe and sustainable level. Losing more than this can be water loss or lean tissue.

Do I have to count calories?
No, not with the low GL diet. Calories have their place, but do not play a part in the zest4life programmes.

Do I need to measure or weigh my food?
This is useful in the first couple of weeks until you are familiar with the quantities. However, you only need to focus on the carbohydrate portion of any meal?

What is GL?
GL stands for glycaemic load. This accounts for the amount of sugar released from carbohydrates and the speed at which it raises your blood sugar. This is explained fully in the course.

Will I feel hungry on the low GL diet?
No! You will be encouraged to eat regularly during the day. In fact you may find you eat more than you have been doing. Some even find it difficult to eat all the food recommended!

How do I know I am eating the right foods?
You are encouraged to submit a food diary to your coach on a weekly basis to receive personal feedback. Your coach will guide you and support you in making the best choices for you.

Is it suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, very much so. This eating plan can be adjusted to suit all sorts of special diets including vegan, gluten and dairy-free, and for those with food allergies. Just let your coach know if you have a special diet requirement and they will help to put your diet plan together.

Is it suitable for children?
Although we wouldn’t recommend putting children on a diet without first speaking to your doctor, the menu and recipes are suitable for everyone. The online programmes are not intended for, nor targeted at children.

I am diabetic. Is it suitable for me?
Absolutely. However, please speak to your doctor and be prepared to check you blood sugar levels before and after meals, as you may need to adjust your medication. The low GL diet is particularly useful in balancing blood sugar for those with insulin.
