Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self report questionnaire designed to make Jung’s theory of psychological type understandable and useful in everyday life.  He observed that although everyone is unique, there are patterns in people’s behaviour that are predictable and consistent.

Taking the MBTI inventory and receiving feedback will help you identify your unique gifts.  The information enhances understanding of yourself, your motivations, your natural strengths and your potential areas for growth.   It will also help you appreciate people who differ from you.

What does it involve?

Before the initial session, you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire which takes about 30 minutes to complete.   This will be reviewed by the Practitioner in the session, where one to one feedback helps validate your results.   This usually takes about one and a half hours.   Follow up sessions are available if you feel these would be beneficial and the number of sessions is entirely up to you.

The first session will give you a basic understanding of your type.   The second session will be on how you develop your weaker side, and understanding areas that cause you stress and how to combat these.

What are the Benefits?

Understanding your type can help you appreciate your own strengths, gifts and potential needs and help you appreciate how others may differ from you.   With over 60 years of research and development, the MBTI is used for a wide variety of purposes including:

  • Self awareness and development
  • Midlife exploration
  • Career development
  • Team building
  • Management and leadership training
  • Problem solving
  • Relationship counselling
