Gill is a BACP Accredited Counsellor who works with individuals.  She is also a trained Pilates Teacher.

Counselling: My hope is to offer you a compassionate space to be heard and to discover a way forward. At the heart of my work is the healing potential of the therapeutic relationship. My desire is to meet and be alongside you as you draw on your inner strength and creativity in what can be very challenging circumstances.

My experience comes from my role as a practice counsellor in several G.P surgeries. I have had the privilege of supporting many different people from all walks of life.  I love my work and can offer both short and long term counselling.

My approach to counselling is intuitive and creative, attending to what’s happening for you right now, whilst giving respect and time to earlier experiences. Being committed to my own personal growth, I deeply believe that this way of being helps us understand ourselves better.   Through counselling our lives and our relationships can be enriched.

I want to acknowledge the anxiety around deciding to come for counselling. It takes courage to reach out for help.

 

Pilates: I love the sense of Wellbeing that can come from a regular movement practice and find teaching Pilates on a one to one basis or in small groups a real pleasure.

My approach to Pilates is influenced by my current training in relational embodied psychotherapy and my ongoing experience as a counsellor.  As a practising counsellor I am passionate about offering an embodied approach, a space to move in a meaningful and life affirming way.  A place to build strength and relax deeply.

I am a level three Pilates instructor, and have taught for many years throughout Tyneside.   Sessions last up to an hour and offer a restorative space to find balance for body, mind and soul.

Pilates is a beautiful exercise method that can be tailored to suit individual needs. It can be gently challenging and helpful to those with ongoing health issues.  Regular sessions can enhance flexibility , strength and stamina.

My counselling experience is within the primary care service and charitable organisations.
